As your local Councillor I am passionate about improving local transport provision in Henbury and Brentry. This means make our roads safer, better public transport options and also ensuring that traffic flows as freely as possible in our community.
I opposed the Mayors ridiculous plans for the A4018 and led the campaign against their introduction in Henbury & Brentry. We delivered thousands of leaflets, ran targeted social media adds and help public meetings. I am delighted to say that we won that fight and most of the silly ideas have now been discarded.
As your Councillor I have:
- Relentlessly campaigned to re-open the Henbury Railway Line - with the Henbury ‘Spur’ option due to open in 2021.
- Lobbied to improve local bus stops - this is a rolling programme with the No.1 stops being done in 2019 and the No.2 due for upgrades in 2020.
- Secured money for road safety measures - such as removing the pinch point on Hallen Road, a pedestrian crossing point on Knole Lane, a zebra crossing outside of Aldi and speed restrictions on Kings Weston Road.
- Led local petitions to restore and improve local bus services - such as the No.76 back to Station Road
There is more work yet to do and some campaigns are ongoing but I will always support local residents to improve our local area.
I am still working to get the entire Henbury Rail ‘Loop’ opened up to passenger travel, to improve the Henbury Ford area, get the promised zebra crossing on Charlton Road installed and many more.
By working together I believe we have improved our area and we can achieve so much more!
